About Point-of-Care Testing (POCT)

Point-of-care testing (POCT) refers to diagnostic testing performed rapidly at clinical settings such as outpatient clinics or bedside locations. Using the UMA POCT test kits, measurement results for specific analytes can be obtained within a short time (approximately 10 minutes), allowing comparison with reference ranges.

POCT Analyzer: Scan@poc U1

The Scan@poc U1 features a compact and lightweight design, enabling easy transport to the bedside for testing.

Measurement procedures and routine maintenance are simple.

Features

  • Displays measurement results and comparison with reference ranges within approximately 10–15 minutes.
  • Test device information is automatically entered via QR code, allowing measurement to begin with minimal operation.
  • Measurement data can be transferred to a computer in Excel format.
  • This test kit employs time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) using europium, achieving high detection sensitivity.

About Time-Resolved Fluorescence (TRF)

時間分解蛍光測定(TRF)法について

Europium, the fluorophore used in this assay, emits strong and long-lived fluorescence (λ= 615 nm) when excited with light at λ= 340 nm. By measuring fluorescence of the test line after the decay of autofluorescence from the nitrocellulose membrane (green region in the figure), the influence of background fluorescence is minimized, enabling highly sensitive detection (orange region).
